THE FARM

Perfect Finca’s table Olive Oil is made from our own olive trees right on the farm. It’s harvested once a year in October and we get between 40-60 liters depending on the harvest size for that season.

The process of transforming olives into golden olive oil is done in the local olive press just 1 km from the house in Alaro, where it is cold pressed to get a beautiful blend of our olives.

Almonds are also harvested from the farm once a year during the October in autumn. The productions vary by the season but usually comes to be XXXXX kg. The almonds are then the used to produce our own organic almond milk and cream. And we use it of course in the daily cooking in salads or cakes or why not in the afternoon with a glass of red wine?

On our rustic piece of land will you find olive, almond and carobs trees which we all harvest from. Carob trees are an old tree popular in the Mediterranean, which now have been coming very popular to produce cream similar to Nutella but very healthy. Because of their rich flavour like chocolate with just healthy parts.

The farm has five beehives on the plot, and twice a year in December and May do we receive beautiful honey from them. The flavour, colour and texture of the honey relies so much on the season; if it has been cold or not, much rain or not, which in turn affects the well being of the plants who the bees lives off. Even if it sounds like a lot with five beehives you don’t need to worry the bees fly 3km from the house so they wont be in your way.

We love our chickens, they roam around free on the plot and are very social and kind. We use their eggs daily for breakfasts and other meals.

We are big animals friends, we see it as a natural way of life to live side by side by animal to learn how to care and respect each other.

At the moment we have hens, sheep and two small ponies that roam the grounds. They help us to take care of the rustic land as lawn mowers that belong to the farm. For us its important to have them there as they add soul and life to the farm. Without them would it be like a ocean with out boats, not so interesting to look at.

Our sheep farming provides us with the best organic meat we can get, which is a important part for us when we try to be as self-catered and sustainable as we possibly can.

As we aim to live as sustainable we can, it was a big step for us during spring 2022 when we could celebrate that we were finally off grid and had our own solar park that provides enough green energy to the whole farm the whole year around. We also installed electric car charger for those guests who have electric cars.

Limewood Lodge is an Cape Dutch Manor, which is the typical Afrikaan style of a farm house equivalent to what a traditional finca is in Spain. The owners who live between Mallorca and Cape Town draw and mix energy from each one and give ideas to the other over the years.
